The house

We restored the house and kept its character

Casa do Pátio is a two-storey house on a stepped lane in Alfama, between the Cathedral and the Miradouro de Santa Luzia. We kept the thick walls, the wooden ceilings and the patio tiles, and added what a house needs today: a new bathroom, air conditioning, good beds and a kitchen you will actually want to cook in.

The living room opens onto the patio through an arched window. In the morning the sun falls on the iron table and the lemon tree; by evening the patio is cool and quiet, away from the bustle of the streets below.

There are 38 steps between Rua do Limoeiro and our door. Tell us when you arrive and we will help with your luggage.

Your hosts

We welcome you ourselves

Inês and Duarte

We live two streets from Casa do Pátio and meet every guest at the door, or leave everything ready for self check-in if you arrive late.

During your stay we are just a message away: for a restaurant without tourists, a fado house where people really sing, or anything you need in the house.

We speak Portuguese, English and French.
