Software for care homes and home care
For care homes, day centres and home-care services, we build a portal where families get day-to-day updates, visit booking by time and room, and a rota platform for your staff. Families feel reassured without phoning every day. Managers know who is on shift and where cover is short.
Typical problems
- Families ring several times a day to ask how mum or dad is doing, and whoever answers is in the middle of giving care
- Relatives living abroad only hear news when someone remembers to call them
- Visits bunch up at weekends and the lounge fills without warning
- The rota lives in a spreadsheet, and every sick day sets off a round of phone calls
- In home care, nobody knows for sure whether the nine o'clock visit has happened

A daughter in Paris, a mother in care
A daughter lives in Paris; her mother moved into a care home in inland Portugal three months ago. Each evening she opens the portal and reads the day's note: a good lunch, the music session in the afternoon, a visit from an old neighbour. Sometimes there is a photo, shared with her mother's permission. She no longer needs to call reception in the middle of the afternoon.
When she comes over in August, she books two weekend visits in the portal, at times that suit her, in the garden room. Reception knows in advance how many families are coming in each slot and sets up the room without queues or confusion.
Staffing, shift by shift
A care home runs around the clock, every day of the year. The rota platform shows morning, afternoon and night shifts by floor or by unit, with days off, holidays and training already in place. When a care assistant is off sick, the manager sees the gap and sends a cover request to everyone free, instead of phoning people one by one.
Home care on the road
- Each team's route for the day, with homes in order and the tasks for each visit
- Check-in and check-out on the phone, so you know the visit took place
- Visit notes, such as meal given, personal care done or medication prompted
- Alerts to the coordinator when a visit isn't logged on time
- Messages to families when something is out of the ordinary

Frequently asked questions
What do families see in the portal?
Whatever the organisation chooses to share, with the consent of the resident or their representative. That might be a daily note, the activities they joined, photos, the week's menu and upcoming appointments. Detailed clinical information stays out of the portal unless you decide to share it under your own rules.
Won't writing updates add to the staff's workload?
We design the log to be quick. On a tablet or phone, the carer picks the resident, taps ready-made options and adds a sentence if they want. The same entry feeds your internal care record and the note for the family, so nothing is written twice.
Is the portal easy for older relatives to use?
That is one of our priorities. Large text, strong contrast, clear buttons and simple sign-in, following the WCAG accessibility guidelines. A husband or wife in their eighties should be able to book a visit on their own.
Does the rota platform handle cover for absences?
Yes. When someone calls in sick, the manager sees straight away which shift is uncovered and who is available, and sends a cover request to those people. The first to accept takes the shift, and the rota updates for everyone.
How much does a care-home portal cost?
We don't have a price list. Each organisation gets a proposal written by hand, based on the number of residents and staff, the services you run and the features you choose. Tell us about your organisation and we will send one. Request a quote
