Online shops for florists and gift shops

For florists and gift shops, we build online shops where customers choose the bouquet or gift, the delivery time and the card message in a single order. The shop only offers slots your team can meet and stops taking same-day orders at the cut-off you set. People who send flowers once get a reminder before the next important date.

Typical problems

  • Orders come in by phone and message, and addresses or card wording get noted down wrongly
  • On the busiest days, the shop accepts more deliveries than the team can make on time
  • Customers cannot tell how late they can still order for today
  • Someone who bought birthday flowers forgets the shop by the following year

Suggested bundle

  • Same-day delivery slots
  • Reminders for special dates
  • Personal gift messages on the card

Shopping for flowers and gifts: what people expect

  • Choose quickly. Arrangements and gifts grouped by occasion: birthday, new baby, thank you, sympathy.
  • Know it will arrive in time. Today's cut-off is always on show, and full slots simply do not appear.
  • Make it personal. A card message, gift wrap, and something extra such as chocolates or a candle.
  • Pay easily. Card, MB WAY, Multibanco, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Three o'clock on a Tuesday

A customer working in Lisbon realises mid-afternoon that it is their mother's birthday, and she lives in Porto. They search for a florist near her and find your shop. They pick a bouquet, see that a 5–7 pm delivery is still open for her postcode, type the card message and pay. Before finishing, they tick the box to be reminded on the same date next year.

In the shop, the order lands on today's list with the address, the time slot and the card message printed clearly. The driver sees the day's deliveries sorted by time and, once the bouquet is marked as delivered, the customer gets an e-mail.

Eleven months later, the reminder arrives with a suggested arrangement and a link straight back to the shop.

Gift and homeware shops

For a gift shop the emphasis shifts: a wider range, nationwide shipping and the option to send a present straight to the recipient without the invoice in the box. An online store handles all of this, along with gift vouchers for people who cannot decide.

Orders that start on WhatsApp

Plenty of customers would still rather send a message. An AI assistant on WhatsApp answers questions such as "can you deliver to Sintra today?" from your own areas and times, always says it is an AI assistant, and sends the order link or passes the chat to your team for special requests. To be found by people searching for a florist nearby, add local SEO.

Frequently asked questions

Can I cap the number of deliveries in each slot?

Yes. You set how many deliveries the team can make in each time window and in which areas. Once a slot is full, it is no longer offered. Around Mother's Day or Valentine's Day you can offer fewer slots or open pre-orders further ahead.

What if a flower in the arrangement is out of stock?

Each product page can explain that flowers change with the season and that the florist will use others of a similar colour and value. Customers agree to this when ordering, and the shop can send them a photo of the arrangement before it goes out.

How do date reminders handle consent?

They only go to people who ask for them. At checkout, the customer chooses whether to be reminded of that date next year, and every reminder has an unsubscribe link. The recipient's details are used for the delivery and nothing else.

Can businesses set up regular deliveries?

Yes. An office, hotel or restaurant can have fresh flowers every week on a recurring payment. Those standing orders sit in the day's schedule alongside one-off orders, clearly marked.

What does an online shop for a florist cost?

It depends on your delivery areas, the size of the range and connections such as invoicing or WhatsApp. We prepare a quote for your shop after a short conversation. Request a quote
