Payment integrations
MB WAY, Multibanco and card payments online
We connect your website, online store or booking system to the payment methods people in Portugal use every day, MB WAY, Multibanco references and cards. We work with Easypay, Eupago, ifthenpay, SIBS or Stripe, depending on what the business already uses or what suits it best. Each confirmed payment updates the order or booking, so nobody has to check the bank statement.
Three ways to pay, one checkout
For many customers in Portugal, paying online means MB WAY or a Multibanco reference. A checkout that only takes cards loses some of those sales at the very last step.
With MB WAY, the customer enters a mobile number, approves the payment in the app and comes back to a paid order. With a Multibanco reference, the website shows the entity, reference and amount, and the customer pays at a cash machine or in online banking whenever it suits them. With a card, the bank's authentication happens inside the checkout. Where the provider supports them, we add Apple Pay and Google Pay to the same screen.
Picking a provider
Easypay, Eupago, ifthenpay and SIBS are Portuguese providers built around MB WAY and Multibanco. Stripe is international and takes MB WAY and Multibanco directly, which helps if you also sell abroad or need subscriptions. See also our Stripe integration page.
The choice comes down to the methods you need, the fees, how quickly money reaches your account and the platform your site runs on.
After the payment
A payment only counts once the provider confirms it. The website receives that confirmation, marks the order as paid, e-mails the customer and lets the team know. In an online store, stock stays reserved while a reference is waiting to be paid. In a booking system, the slot is only taken once the deposit is in.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a contract with the payment provider?
Yes. The account is in your business's name and the money goes straight to your bank account, never through us. We help you pick the provider and prepare what it asks for at sign-up, and we handle all the technical work.
What fees apply to MB WAY and Multibanco payments?
The fees of the provider you choose apply, and each one has its own pricing. We compare the options and explain the fees in the proposal. Our own work is always on request, quoted for each project. Request a quote
What happens if a customer never pays the Multibanco reference?
Every reference has a deadline. Before it runs out, the customer can get a reminder by e-mail. If the deadline passes unpaid, the order is cancelled and the stock goes back on sale without anyone on the team stepping in.
Can I use two providers at once?
You can. Some businesses use a Portuguese provider for MB WAY and Multibanco and Stripe for cards from customers abroad. It works well, but reconciliation then has two sources, so we only suggest it when there is a clear reason.
