Websites for car dealers and rent-a-car

For car dealers and rent-a-car firms, we build websites with live vehicle stock and filters that actually help, finance requests that arrive complete and a rental booking engine that takes payment online. Buyers come to the forecourt knowing which car they want to see. Renters pick dates, category and extras without an e-mail exchange.

Typical problems

  • Every car is entered by hand on the website and on each car portal, and prices drift apart
  • Sold cars stay listed and keep the phone ringing for nothing
  • Finance requests arrive half-filled, so it takes several calls before they reach the lender
  • Rental bookings travel by e-mail, with no live availability and no payment secured

Buying: from search to test drive

A family is looking for a diesel people carrier under five years old. On the dealer's website, they filter by body type, fuel, year and automatic gearbox and end up with four cars. Each listing shows photos from every angle, the equipment, the service history and whether a warranty is included.

They book a test drive for Saturday and, on the same form, tick that they would like finance. A few questions about employment and income later, the request reaches the salesperson with everything the lender needs. By Saturday the car is clean and waiting, and the finance request has already gone to the lender.

Anyone trading in a car can ask for a part-exchange valuation with the registration, mileage and a few photos. The salesperson walks into the conversation with a figure in mind.

Renting: bookings that come with payment

A couple lands in Faro on Friday night. A month earlier, on their phone, they booked a small car with a child seat and a second driver. The booking engine showed real availability by category and by desk, added the extras and took payment straight away. The day before, they received the hand-over time and the meeting point at the airport.

At the desk, staff open the booking, check the driving licence and record mileage and fuel on a tablet, with photos of the car. On return, the same record settles any question about scratches that were already there.

The parts that make it work

  • Vehicle pages with photos, equipment and warranty
  • Side-by-side comparison of two or three cars
  • Searches in plain words, such as "automatic hybrid SUV", with smart search
  • Stock export to car portals that accept automatic imports
  • Rental rates by season and length of hire, in a booking system
  • A link to your fleet software through integrations

Frequently asked questions

Can the stock come from our dealer management software?

Yes, as long as it can export its data. Each car is entered once, with photos, mileage and equipment, and appears on the website. Once it is sold, it drops off the listing without anyone having to remember.

Can the website run finance calculations?

We recommend that credit terms always come from the lender you work with, because credit advertising has its own disclosure rules. The website collects the request with the details the lender asks for and passes it to the right person, without promising terms only the lender can confirm.

How does the security deposit work for online rentals?

At booking, the customer pays for the rental by card, MB WAY, Multibanco, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The deposit can be a card pre-authorisation, taken at pick-up or a few days before, and released on return. Nobody has money held for weeks.

Can the booking site work in several languages for tourists?

Yes, and in tourist areas it matters. Rental terms, insurance options and extras show in the customer's language, and so do the confirmations. English, French, Spanish and German are the usual additions to Portuguese.

What does a website with stock and rental booking cost?

Every project is quoted to its requirements. The size of the fleet or stock, the software we connect to and whether you sell, rent or do both all make a difference. Request a quote
