Websites and apps for driving schools

For driving schools, we build websites with practical-lesson booking in each instructor's diary, an app where learners practise for the theory test, and instalment payment plans. Learners book and cancel lessons without phoning and reach the theory exam after plenty of mock tests. The office saves time and every instructor knows who they are taking out next.

Typical problems

  • Practical lessons are booked by phone or at the counter, and instructors swap slots on paper
  • Learners revise for the theory test from books and generic websites, and the school cannot tell who is ready
  • Instalment payments for the licence are logged by hand, and arrears only show up at the end
  • Last-minute cancellations leave a car and an instructor sitting idle

From theory test to licence, all on the phone

A university student enrols online, opts to pay in instalments and installs the practice app. On the bus to campus, she sits mock theory tests and goes over the questions she gets wrong most often. Once she has gone several weeks without failing a mock, the school offers her a date for the theory exam.

After the theory test, she books practical lessons in her instructor's diary, in the early evening between lectures. The day before each one, a reminder tells her where to meet. When she cannot make it, she cancels in the app and the slot opens up for another learner straight away.

Running the school from one screen

  • A diary per instructor and per car, showing how many practical lessons each learner has had
  • Mock-test results per learner and per topic
  • Payment plans, overdue instalments and receipts
  • Enrolment documents uploaded by the learner before their first visit
  • Lesson reminders and change alerts by text or e-mail
  • Licence categories, from cars to motorcycles and HGVs, each with its own path

One office or several branches

A single-office school often starts with a website that explains the licence categories and steps, with online enrolment. A school with several branches needs diaries and cars per location, and a booking system that shows each learner only their own branch's slots. The practice app can be an installable web app, with no app store in the way.

Frequently asked questions

Can learners book practical lessons themselves?

Yes, within the school's rules. They only see their own instructor's slots, or any free instructor's, and can only book with lessons left or payments up to date. A late cancellation can count as a lesson taken, depending on the policy you set.

Which questions does the practice app use?

The ones the school has the right to use, grouped by topic, such as road signs, right of way or vehicle mechanics. Learners sit mock tests in a format and time limit close to the real exam and see every mistake explained. The school follows each learner's results and can tell who is ready to sit the exam.

Do we need an app in the stores?

For most schools, an installable web app is enough. Learners install it from the website and keep practising even without a signal. If you want to be on the App Store and Google Play, we build a mobile app.

How do payment plans work?

When they enrol, learners choose to pay for the licence in one go or in instalments, by card, MB WAY, Multibanco, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Each instalment is flagged before it falls due, and the office sees who is behind before offering an exam date. Extra lessons are paid on the spot with a payment link.

What does a website with booking and a practice app cost?

We put together a tailored proposal that takes in the number of instructors and cars, the licence categories you teach and whether you want the practice app from day one. Request a quote
