Mobile apps for iOS and Android

A mobile app is software your customers or staff install on their phone from the App Store or Google Play. It suits loyalty schemes, field teams and internal tools that people use every day. You get a place on the home screen, push notifications and access to phone features such as the camera and location.

When an app makes sense

An app sits on the phone's home screen and can nudge people at the right moment. That matters when use is frequent: booking a class at the gym, collecting stamps at a café, logging a delivery or a job on site. When use is occasional, a good website or web app does the job with lower upkeep. We help you decide before any code is written.

Designed for the thumb

We design every screen for one-handed use, with readable text and buttons that are easy to tap. The most common tasks sit one or two taps away. We follow the iOS and Android accessibility guidelines, so the app works with screen readers and larger text sizes.

Common features

  • A digital loyalty card with points and rewards
  • Bookings and payments inside the app
  • Job logging with photos, signatures and location
  • QR code or barcode scanning
  • Messaging between your team and the customer

An app connected to everything else

An app rarely stands alone. It is often the mobile side of a management platform or a booking system you already run or that we build with you. If you are launching a new product, see our MVP for startups as well.

Frequently asked questions

Do I really need an app, or will a website do?

It depends on how it will be used. If customers open it often, need reliable notifications or use features such as the camera or Bluetooth, an app pays off. For occasional use, an installable web app is usually enough and simpler to maintain.

What is the difference between native and cross-platform?

A native app is written separately for iOS and for Android. A cross-platform app shares most of its code between the two, which cuts maintenance work. We recommend the right route once we know the features you need.

Do you handle publishing on the App Store and Google Play?

Yes. We prepare the store listings, screenshots, privacy details and the submission for review. We recommend registering the developer account to your company.

What happens after launch?

App stores and operating systems change every year, and an app needs updates to keep working well. We can look after those updates and add features under a maintenance plan.

Will the app connect to our current system?

In most cases, yes. The app talks to your system through an API. If there isn't one yet, we can build it as part of the project.

How much does it cost?

Every project is quoted by hand from your requirements, so pricing is on request. Tell us who will use the app and what they need to do in it. Request a quote
