Websites and eye-test booking for opticians
For opticians, we build websites with eye-test booking, a frame catalogue searchable by shape, material and brand, and a virtual try-on that shows glasses on the customer's face through their phone camera. Customers arrive with a test booked and a shortlist of frames they like. Your team spends its time advising, not taking frames out of the display one by one.
Typical problems
- The optometry diary lives in a notebook, and phone bookings clash with customers already in the shop
- People compare frames online before buying, yet your range is only visible in the window
- Customers forget their yearly eye test and only return when their sight has already changed
- Contact-lens reorders come in by phone, each with the same question about the prescription
Suggested bundle
- Online eye-test booking
- Frame catalogue
- Virtual try-on
Shortlisting glasses from the sofa
A customer knows they need new glasses but has no time to spend an afternoon trying frames on. One evening they open the optician's website, filter for round acetate frames and try six pairs using their laptop camera. They save three to their favourites and book an eye test for Saturday morning.
On Saturday, the optometrist can see it is a first visit and has blocked out the right amount of time. After the test, a member of staff brings out the three saved frames, adjusts the favourite and talks through lens options. A year later, a message arrives saying the next test is due.
Everything the practice runs from one screen
- A diary by practitioner and appointment type: eye test, contact-lens fitting, collection and adjustment
- A frame catalogue with photos, measurements, materials and stock per shop
- A favourites list customers bring to the shop or share with whoever is helping them choose
- "Your glasses are ready" messages by text or e-mail
- Yearly test reminders, only for customers who opted in
- Contact-lens reorders with the latest prescription already on file
An independent shop or a group of practices
An independent optician often starts with online booking and an institutional website that shows the brands it carries. A group with several practices needs a diary and stock per location, plus pages that come up in each town when someone searches for "optician near me"; that is where SEO and Google visibility comes in.

Frequently asked questions
How does virtual try-on work?
The customer turns on the camera on their phone or computer and sees frames on their own face, to scale, as they move their head. We design it so the camera image stays on the device, without being uploaded or stored. It is ideal for choosing shapes and colours; the final fitting still happens in the shop.
Do we have to put our whole range online?
No. You can start with your best-selling collections or the brands only you stock locally, and add models as they arrive. Each frame can show whether it is in store or available to order.
Can we remind customers about their yearly eye test?
Yes. After each test, the system records the date and sends a message when the next one is due, with a link to book. Customers opt in when they book their first test and can switch reminders off at any time.
Can we sell contact lenses and accessories online?
Yes, through an online store taking card, MB WAY, Multibanco, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Contact lenses need particular care, so we agree with you which products can be bought online and which always require an appointment first.
What does a website with booking cost for an optician?
Every optician gets a proposal written by hand, based on the size of the range, the number of shops and practitioners, and whether you want virtual try-on. Tell us what you need and we will send one. Request a quote
