Payment integrations
Klarna and buy now, pay later
We integrate Klarna instalments or PayPal Pay Later into online stores and higher-value services. Customers split the purchase into instalments or pay later, while the provider handles approval and collections and normally takes on the credit risk. The business sees a paid order like any other and keeps card, MB WAY, Multibanco, Apple Pay and Google Pay at checkout.
Why pay later helps sales
On a higher-value item, the customer's hesitation is often not about the product but about paying it all at once. With buy now, pay later, they split the amount into instalments or pay later, and decide on the spot instead of putting it off.
For the business, nothing changes about the order. The provider approves the customer in seconds, pays the business and takes care of the later collections. The credit risk normally sits with the provider, and the business has no instalments to chase.
Klarna or PayPal Pay Later
Klarna is one of the best-known options in Europe and comes through a direct connection or as a method in Stripe, Adyen or Mollie. PayPal Pay Later appears to customers who already pay with PayPal, inside the same button. In many cases, the choice comes down to the provider the business already uses and the countries it sells to.
The terms the customer sees, such as the number of instalments, are set by the provider. We only show the option where it applies, worded as the provider requires, so nobody is caught off guard.
Where we add it
In an online store, the option appears at checkout and, if you like, on the product page with the amount of each instalment. For courses or services sold online, it turns sign-ups that would have waited into sign-ups today.
The provider's webhooks confirm the order, partial captures when you ship in parts, and refunds when items come back. Everything stays linked to the right order.
What stays at checkout
Paying later is one more choice, not the only one. Card, MB WAY, Multibanco, Apple Pay and Google Pay stay alongside, as in MB WAY, Multibanco and card payments. Customers pick whatever suits them.

Frequently asked questions
Who carries the risk if the customer doesn't pay the instalments?
Normally, the provider does. Klarna or PayPal approve the customer at the moment of purchase, pay the business and collect the instalments. We confirm the terms of your contract before switching the option on. The business only handles the order, as it would with a card payment.
Is buy now, pay later available in Portugal?
It depends on the provider, the customer's country and the order value, and the options change over time. At the start of the project we confirm what Klarna and PayPal offer your customers, and we only show the option to people who can use it.
How much does it cost to offer buy now, pay later?
The provider's fees apply, and they are usually different from card fees. We explain the ones that apply to you in the proposal. Our own work is on request, quoted for each project. Request a quote
I already use Stripe. Do I need another contract?
Often not. Stripe offers Klarna as one more method in the same checkout. We check whether it is available for your account and, if it is, switch it on without changing provider.
