Growth & support

Project rescue and technical support

Project rescue is for anyone left with a website or app that nobody looks after, because the developer vanished, the agency closed or the work was never finished. We recover access, work out how everything fits together, fix what is broken and write it all down. The project is back under your control, with technical support if you need it.

First, do no harm

With an inherited project, the biggest risk is changing things before you understand them. So the first thing we do is take a full backup of files, database and settings, and only then start investigating. If a change goes wrong, we should be able to go back to where we started, and your business isn't left at the mercy of an experiment.

Everything in your name

It is common to find the domain, hosting or third-party accounts registered to the previous developer. We help move all of it into your company's name and keep a list of access details that belongs to you. From then on, whoever works on the project, whether that is us or another team, starts with everything in the right place.

Common requests

  • Websites that stopped sending contact form e-mails
  • Online stores where payments or invoicing keep failing
  • Security warnings, hacked pages or spam
  • Updates put off for years for fear of breaking something
  • Half-built apps that need finishing

After the rescue

With the project stable and documented, you can decide what comes next with the full picture. You might keep us on for support and monthly maintenance, plan a refresh, or connect the project to the tools you already use through integrations and APIs. We explain how we organise the work in how we work.

Frequently asked questions

I don't have access to the code. Can you still help?

Often, yes. If you can get into the hosting account, the code is usually there. If you can't, we help you request access from the hosting provider or the domain registrar, where the accounts should be in your company's name. We tell you early on what can be recovered.

The website is down. What do you do first?

We get it running again first, even with a temporary fix, and only then look at everything else. Say in your request that it is urgent and what has stopped working.

Is it better to fix it or start again?

It depends on the state of the project, and we only know after the diagnosis. If fixing it would cost more than rebuilding, we tell you. For a website, the alternative is usually a redesign that keeps your content.

Do you work with any technology?

We work with the most common web technologies. Once we have looked at the project, we tell you whether we are the right team for it. If we aren't, we say so.

Will you criticise the previous developer's work?

That isn't our job. The diagnosis describes the state of the project and what to do next, without looking for someone to blame. You need facts to make a decision, not opinions about whoever came before.

Can you take over support for the project?

Yes. After the rescue, we can handle updates, backups and small changes on a monthly maintenance plan. If you need a deeper assessment first, see our software and architecture audit.

How much does it cost?

Every project is quoted by hand from your requirements, so pricing is on request. Tell us what happened, what technology you know it uses and what access you still have. Request a quote

Shall we talk about your project?

Tell us what you have in mind and what you want to achieve.
